Gosh, I don't know what I'd do about a daughter who wanted to be a cheerleader. I like to think I let my kids be themselves, but I know I did do some unconscious pushing toward some things and was discouraging about others. Working out my issues or just my own preferences...hmm. That I'll have to think about. Thanks for the very candid entry! Much food for thought. ~LA

I know Hailey is only three but she also want to be a cheerleader, she is always doing kicks and tring to do jumps. So I am looking for a cheer/dance class for her.

Whew! (Just kidding.) Enjoyed this entry very much, darling. While I think it's true that parents re-live their own issues on children at particular ages, I also think that some parents, in their fear, inflict their own age-issues on children that simply aren't there. In retrospect, I can see that's what my mother did with me! Oh, well; lucky I'm a grown-up now and don't have to think about such things from my childhood...(snark). Parenting is much too hard for the likes of me - and I'm absolutely sure you're handling it far better than I ever could. Love, R xxx
