I think your reward system makes a lot of sense. I need to do the same...break down my weight loss goal into smaller goals with healthy rewards for reaching each step. I'm slowly but surely moving downward on the scale at a rate of about 1 lb per week. I'm happy about the progress, even though it's slow. I'm so jealous about the Lifetime Fitness membership...when they opened their first place in Tempe, I drooled over it, but was already going somewhere else at the time. Here, there's nothing except the YMCA, and it's so expensive! Did they put up a Lifetime futher east? Enjoy that...you worked hard for it! Geez, I've rambled quite a bit...just two more things before I go (1) I hope you feel better really soon...it sucks, I know, that horrible little man has made himself quite at home on my chest the past two weeks...ugh...I'll be sending healing energy your way; (2) I'll also be sending "good-job-gettin'-thoughts to Jeff...I hope everything works out for the best.

"I love to lose myself in other people's minds. Books think for me." ~ Charles Lamb ~ I thank you for your comment to my World Book Day entry. I am also a passionate devotee of reading. In the last week alone I have read two amazingly inspiring books. I do wish you continued success with achieving all of your fitness goals. Today may you experience what you most greatly desire. What pops into your brilliant and beautiful head today? A completely healthy body? A tall, handsome somebody with a new job? A vase brimming with beautiful tulips, the harbingers of spring? A steaming bowl of good, homemade soup? Sweeping vistas to view from your living room window? A shopping spree at your favorite store? Drinking a cup of hot tea or chai while engaged in stimulating conversation with a dear friend? A completely immaculate abode that was not the result of your own labor? Whatever you most desire, may your order be placed and filled today.

Sounds like you have a great attitude. I know most of the time I do feel guilty for not being where I "should be".

sorry to hear you feel like ass! ***get better soon vibes to you*** Hope J. gets the job! also, your reward system sounds fab, and I wish you all the best! I totally agree with what you said about the guilt trapping people into feeling they don't deserve the pampering... sad too, cuz pampering is a gr8 reward, and we all deserve to be healthy and happy.
