We ended up getting a hotel room outside of Chicago early yesterday morning because we were just too tired to attempt the drive home. It was a great room, with a king-sized bed, and we slept well, not leaving until almost noon.

We got home at around 2:30 or 3:00 and opened mail, vacuumed, fed and retrieved animals... all that just getting home kind of stuff. Nina is not settling back into her bed well, poor kid. I know she's wondering what the hell is going on with the sleeping arrangements. It's a new bed every week. Hopefully she at least recognizes this one.

So I'm up early, having been up since about 4:30 or so. I've read more mail, attempted to catch up on a few diaries, signed up for some web design classes (I feel a new Wild Women Soaps web design coming on in time for the holidays!) and then decided to put some kind of update here.

The weather here is delightful, nice and cool. The grass in our backyard grew about 10 inches while we were gone, and the weeds have taken over all the nice work we did around the garage. I have a lot of yardwork to do, and some housework, and shopping and... well, you get it. And so I'll get to it.
