Stoh - wee!!
Gabrielle has been reading to Nina at night for the past month or so. Every night, Nina gets a bath with Dad, I take her out about get her jammies on, then Gab comes up and takes her into their bedroom for storytime in the rocking chair. I've been loving it anyway, because Nina obviously looks forward to time with her Big Sis. After the first week, she took to barreling her way from my bedroom in to the rocking chair as soon as I set her sleepered feet down on the floor. Last night, though, last night was the cutest. Nina was in Jeff's arms, sitting on his hip, and I was telling Gab it was time to go read Nina her story. "Stoh - wee." We talked on for a moment, and then, Nina said it again: "Stoh - wee. Stoh - wee!" We all turned to look at her. Gab said, "Do you think she really knows what she's saying?" A big grin stretched across Nina's face. "Stoh - wee!" "I think she knows, Gab," I said. We set her down and she ran down the short hallway: "Stoh - wee! Stoh - wee!" Straight to the rocking chair, where she picked up a book and handed it to Gab: "Stoh - wee!" What is it with the "awwww" moments? They make the "awww, shit!" moments worthwhile.
