News of the Day

1) ASU has made Jeff a conditional job offer for police aide. He has to make it through a polygraph test and psych eval, as well as a few other small things, but barring that, he starts in mid-May. I cannot convey online how excited and relieved I am. Remember Al Gore's macarena? It's exactly NOT like that.

2) Jeff's mom was conscious for a time today and responding to simple commands. She's not out of the woods by any means, and they're still talking about hospice care for her, but at least it's not as dire as it seemed yesterday.

3) I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon for a coven retreat in the Hualapai Mountains. Three full days of spiritual space and relaxation -- I am very much looking forward to it. This dead Duracell needs a battery recharge in the worst way.

I plan to do some writing while I'm there and maybe have some pictures to share on Monday. Any requests?
