Marriage is love.

New (to us) Car

Today we sold the van and bought a 2004 Dodge Neon. The car is very sporty (see pic) and way more fuel efficient than our minivan was, but I was surprised to have a strong emotional reaction to selling the van. We bought it to accommodate our trips to St. Louis, you see, trips we were making for Jasmine. We bought it because we were a family of five, not four. And Jasmine sat in it. Nina came home from the hospital in it.

I know it's a van, a piece of cloth, metal and rubber. But Jasmine sat in it, like I said. And that little ghost is gone. We now live in a house she's never seen, drive a car she's never ridden in. Pretty soon, Jeff will sell the truck, and I will go through this all over again. We brought her ashes home in that.
