You are a brave, brave woman. Nine little girls. Ye gods. I am so glad I had boys. (I say that now, but five years from now when they are ransacking my house with seven of their friends, I am going to be wishing for a civilized tea party.)

I have been patiently anticipating this entry... it was worth the wait. I wondered how well that was going to go over. Glad Gab had fun though. The whole theme party sounds great. Can I come next time?

You deserve a metal...a big, shiny metal...for attempting such a thing. And you deserve a hug...a big, squishy hug...for having survived it. Glad to hear that your girls had such a shrieking good time, though. :)

You must always assume that a girls' sleepover shoots your entire weekend, as you will be non-functional for days afterward. There was one little friend whose shrieks could always be heard all night long; the sound lives in my memory even now. She was a nice kid; she just communicated by shrieks. The sleepover is an experience you just have to endure, but hopefully not too often. And you're right, the fewer the better.

As the mother of a 10 year old girl, I have one question: What exactly were you smoking when you argreed to a sleepover with 9 girls? I want some of it (NOT the sleepover part - the stuff you were injesting)! The good part of a sleepover of that magnatude is that you only have to do it ONCE. The kid usually understands when she asks again and your eyes start to roll into the back of your head.

I will definitely file that away for the future - thanks for sharing!

Okay I will try this again, Do you remember your grad party? Only my close friends Mom. And two hundred or so kid's later, we had one hell of a party... I really can't bitch, all kid's were well behaved in all. It was a learning thing. Guess my dear it's your turn in life's rewards. Love you, Mom

LOL! I can sooo relate ..only it happens at our house weekly! I always want to be the cool mom and ..above all, want the girls to know they can have a blast at the house so ...when they get older maybe they'll stick around instead of "drive around" ...it's overwhelming ...try tequila instead of tarts ..all that sugar gets them wired! LOL ;)

My mother never allowed me to have a sleep over because she knew the terror she was in for. *grin* She probably should have never let me go to any, either. When I was in the sixth grade I went to one and we watched Up In Smoke. Sixth graders, boobies, and pot are a combination certain to cause cacophanous giggles.

And this is what I have to look forward to in 9 years? UGH! I don't remember being like that, but just thinking about it scares me. *LOL* Boys don't do that do they? My son will be 9 in 3 years. *L*

Wise words. I once had 15 little girls sleep over for a birthday slumber party. Amazingly I am still here to tell the tale. Stopped in from blog explosion. Great banner.

Oh, man. I have a two year old and I just flashed forward seven years. On one hand I'm petrified, on the other, There's going to be a bunch of freaked out little girls in my house after I get through scaring them.

I find you to be a very brave woman! I allowed my 12 year old to hold an impromtu sleep over on her 12th birthday. Two of the girls I knew and knew they were good girls. Three of the girls I'd never met before in my life. Needless to say it was very interesting and induced a fit of tequila the following night in order to get the images out of my mind and keep myself from banning my daughter from any activities outside of the home knowing these were friends of hers. *sigh* kids...
