Tales from Wild Suburbia
Apparently Nina thinks that to be like the cat, one must be like the cat. Last night we sat and watched her stalk a cricket right along the two cats. Nestled down on the floor, ready to pounce, occasionally wiggling her butt, as cats do... she tracked the cricket across the floor with her pride, er, cat friends. They took turns batting at it with their appendages (the word "paws" seems so discriminatory) and finally, Rosie moved in for the kill, attempting to bite the cricket. But she was unsuccessful! Nina, like any good pack member, moved in to assist! Yes! She too, tried to bite the cricket! But alas... she was foiled by Grandma, who apparently had a limit to how much carnage and savagery she could witness her 16 month old granddaughter perpetrate. Tomorrow's episode? Stalking the wild water bowl...
