And the "Good News" Just Keeps Coming
Remember when I said, "let them have their damned rapture -- they can all disappear and then we can get to fixing what they've broken." awhile back? Forget that. Because I just read this text of a speech by Bill Moyers and I'm not willing to pay their price. Is it possible that with America's size and influence, with the hold the extreme Christian Right is gaining in our government, we could overcome the reason of the rest of the world and bring this to pass? I shudder to think. Self-fulfililng prophecy, people. Maybe the Bible is the fundie God's big joke on fundamentalists -- and he's having a good laugh watching them all shit in their metaphoric living rooms trying to bring around something that they were meant to be smart enough to realize is an allegory. ::sigh:: If I sound angry, it's only an echo of my fear and deep sorrow. The alarm is sounding, world -- wake up!
Edit: Please read the text of Bill Moyer's speech to really get the full effect of what I've written. This is about fundamentalists, not the average Christian.
